Ten years it's been like this.
CJ hasn't left her property in ten years. Not once.
CJ was a happy, dedicated wife and a compassionate, protective mother. That's who she was...
Ten years ago CJ's husband PETER, and nine year-old daughter TALLULAH, were murdered off a desert highway near the California/Arizona border. Since that day, CJ can feel only two things -- PARALYZING SHAME for not being with her family and QUIET FURY that the perpetrators were never found.
Her daughter's body was never found at the scene. Investigators told CJ they believed the killers buried her in the desert. It's rumored the messianic RUSH BRIDGE and his Manson-like followers were responsible but the investigation was bungled and Rush was never questioned, let alone arrested.
And then one day, a day like the thousand that came before, a letter arrives. It’s postmarked Needles, California, the town closest to the murders. There's no return address.
There’s only one word in the letter. It simply reads: 'sunflower' with the 'f' bending like a tall flower beginning to die...just how Tallulah used to write it. That was her nickname.
CJ’s daughter is alive.
And now with her life and purpose to it re-ignited CJ will do whatever it takes to get her back.
Whatever. It. Takes.
